sun rises and sun sets

the sky here is an eternal palette of wonderful radiant colors.

marc and his wife, amira, and the most wonderful people i think i've ever come across. their energy can be felt just walking up their driveway (granted the drive way does stretch up a mountain, through gardens, animals, farm whatnot, etc).

today after goat milking, hardcore weeding, plant watering, chicken feeding - this awesome guy yehuda took us to the jordan river for a swimming adventure. the water was perfectly chilled, and in combination with the hot sun all was bliss. there were even rope swings tied to most of the trees all up and down the river, which stretches on for miles and miles. while there, these workers cutting down trees happened to be old students of his, and one was the most beautiful man i've ever seen in my entire life. oh lord. they got us free falafel, and apparently just called to take us to the discotheque - but REALLY unfortunately we're WAY too pooped and have to wake up at 430 am.

it's a shame, especially since he's moving to costa rica tomorrow.

the education in israel is insanity. the kids can literally do whatever they want - and there's no special help for disabled children. they get eternal recess, and then when they're old enough they're chugged up with adderoll. we helped out at a local elementary school, and the 3rd graders were practicing for their end of the year dance, and it was no a techno song and they were all doing the robot. one of their classes is playing the drums - which they're all amazing at.
we went there with marc, and he just took the kids out of the gate, and we walked a couple of blocks - collecting random twigs and branches, sat down on some grass and cooked some whole wheat grains and ate them. how wonderful is that!?

i now appreciate natural and organic things to a whole new level i never know. and how wasteful we all are. i feel uncomfortable just thinking about all of the unnatural things people eat, and all of the things they throw out.

anyway i should stop ranting, and start some yoga.

peace out girl scouts.
